Short Word Order 1: Very Simple Sentences: Subject - Verb
When you understand the general pronunciation of Dutch and you've learned some words and made a start with the verbs it's time to begin 'building sentences,' (just by yourself: thinking, writing) — word order, sentence structure: where do the various elements in sentences go?

In very simple sentences, there is just a subject (a personal pronoun, a person or a noun) and a verb:

English often uses the 'Continuous/Progressive' to indicate an ongoing activity; Dutch has another way but it's less common. More later
